Read the first chapters of The Daughter!
Good news - January is over!
Even better news - my brand new thriller is almost out and you can read the opening chapters at the link below…
I’m very excited for you to read a preview of The Daughter and I hope it whets your appetite to find out what happens next!
The Daughter - coming 27th February 2025
As with many of my books, the story was inspired by something from my own life – one of the many trips I made to pick up my children from university at the end of term. It was on one of those trips that I suddenly thought, ‘What if she’s not there when I knock on the door of her room? What if no-one knows her name? What if she vanished weeks ago and no-one knows where she’s gone?’
What would you do? What would a desperate mother do? And how far would she go to find out what’s happened to her child? You’ll have to read on to find out…
The feedback from early reviewers and bloggers has been hugely positive which I’m so pleased (and relieved) about. We have more than 100 five-star reviews already from early readers and I can’t wait to hear what people think when it hits the shelves in bookshops and supermarkets on 27th February.
More than 100 5-star reviews on Netgalley so far
As ever, I’m hugely grateful for every single pre-order because it will help to give The Daughter the best possible start, and help bring it to more readers. So if you can pre-order, I’d really appreciate it. Of course, it also means you’ll be among the first to follow Lauren’s desperate search to discover the truth…
I’m doing an in-person launch event at Waterstones in Nottingham on February 27th and I hope lots of people will be able to join us for the evening. I’ve launched all my books there (with the exception of a couple during lockdown) and it’s always special to feel that ‘publication day buzz’ in the top-floor event room of this fabulous bookshop.
There will also be an online pre-launch earlier that week, on Instagram Live – more details on this to come soon!
