A look back at summer
Where did the summer go? It seems like no time at all since we came back from our trip to Canada and I’m never quite sure how July and August seem to fly by so quickly. So I wanted to take the time in this newsletter to look back and recap all the brilliant moments, just in case you missed them!
It’s been lovely to be busy this summer, with the paperback of The Dream Home coming out and the announcement of my next thriller – The Daughter – which will be arriving on shelves in March 2025. I’ve been busy in my writing cabin, editing and fine-tuning the manuscript and it’s really coming together now. I’m very excited for thriller no.9 and I can’t wait to tell you more about it . . .
The Harrogate crime writing festival in July was another highlight for me as I was a panellist for the first time, which has been a dream of mine since I first discovered the event. Being up on the main stage with some other brilliant authors was every bit as good as I’d hoped it would be and the whole festival was – as ever – an absolute blast from start to finish.

We were able to get away a couple of times over the summer too, walking with friends in the Derbyshire Peak District up around Ladybower Reservoir and the stunning scenery at Stanage Edge.
We also had a few days at the Edinburgh Fringe and managed to catch Dara O’Briain, Paul Merton, Jo Caulfield and some other great acts. As well as a wine-tasting session which was slightly off-topic for the Fringe but a lot of fun (and very educational, of course😊).
September will see me back out on the road again for a series of autumn events in Reading, Bury St Edmunds, Wednesbury, Basingstoke, Birmingham and Nottingham. Look out for my next email for more info or check out the events page of my website to book tickets.
