This is a deeply personal book for me as I’ve spent many a night staring into the dark or at my alarm clock, wondering whether my teenage children were home safe – or whether they were still out there somewhere, their curfew long since passed.

It’s a worry that all parents have – it’s a psychological thriller in itself – which is why I was inspired to channel those worries into this story.
