The Curfew is coming!
I hope 2022 has got off to a good start for you and your family. I may be in the minority but I quite like January because the short, dark days mean fewer distractions to lure me out of the writing cabin. I’m currently in first-draft mode, outlining the early chapters of a book that will come out in 2023.
But before that there is The Curfew!
It’s less than two months now until my brand new thriller hits the shelves (17th March) and I can’t wait to hear what you think of it. If you enjoyed The Catch or Trust Me, if you loved The Holiday or if you’ve been reading my books since Lies and 29 Seconds, I think you’re going to love The Curfew.
The story begins in the middle of the night on one fateful summer weekend, as the parent of a teenager waits for his son to come home. It’s that anxious time of night when one unanswered question leads to another, and then another.
Is my child back? Did I hear his key in the lock? Did I hear his footsteps on the stairs? Is he safe, or is he still out there somewhere, hours after his curfew?
It’s much later before the terrible truth starts to emerge: that five teenagers went up to the woods that night, but only four came out . . .
The Curfew is available to pre-order now if you’d like to be among the very first to read when it’s published in March. I really do appreciate every single pre-order because they help give the book more visibility in publication week – which means getting it in front of more readers. Don’t miss my next Readers’ Club email, which will include an exclusive look at the first chapter of The Curfew.
Of course there are a ton of other great books coming out in 2022, and there are plenty that I’m looking forward to. Tim Weaver is back with The Blackbird, and I’ll also be looking out for Nine Lives by Peter Swanson, Act of Oblivion by Robert Harris and One of the Girls by Lucy Clarke.
On the small screen, I’m particularly looking forward to the first ever TV adaptation of one of my books, when The Holiday appears on Channel 5. As soon as a transmission date is confirmed, I’ll post it up on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. And here on the blog!
